Garner, John Nance
(22 nov. 1868, cond. de Red River, Texas, EE.UU.–7 nov. 1967, Uvalde, Texas).

Político estadounidense. Ejerció como abogado antes de desempeñarse en la Cámara de Representantes (1903–33), cuyo presidente llegó a ser en 1931. Perito en maniobras entre bastidores, apoyó el impuesto a la renta graduado y el Sistema de la Reserva Federal. Elegido vicepresidente durante la presidencia de Franklin D. Roosevelt en 1932 y 1936, fue conservador en el gobierno del New Deal (nuevo trato). Se distanció de Roosevelt en su segundo período, cuando éste intentó ampliar el número de jueces de la Corte Suprema. En 1941 se retiró a su hacienda en Texas.
